Description

More trains than usual are currently undergoing repairs at Transport for Wales depots. This is a result of damage to wheels caused by seasonal conditions.

Details of how services are affected from Monday 10 to Friday 14 December can be found below:

Aberystwyth - Machynlleth - Shrewsbury
A reduced train service will run, with road transport being provided in lieu of cancelled trains. The timetable can be viewed here.

Blaenau Ffestiniog - Llandudno Junction - Llandudno
All trains will be cancelled and replaced by a bus on this route. The replacement bus timetable can be found here.

Pembroke Dock / Milford Haven / Fishguard Harbour - Swansea
Throughout each day, a reduced and amended service will run. Road transport will run in lieu of cancelled trains where provided, with most train services not operating between Carmarthen and Swansea.

The 08:14 Swansea - Fishguard Harbour will be replaced by a bus.

The 09:53 Fishguard Harbour - Carmarthen will be replaced by a bus.

Swansea - Shrewsbury via Llandrindod (Heart of Wales line)
The following services are altered:

  • 04:53 Carmarthen - Llandovery will be cancelled.
  • 06:44 Llandovery - Swansea will be cancelled.

Replacement road transport will run in lieu of cancelled trains. The replacement bus timetable can be viewed here

Cardiff Central - Cheltenham Spa
15:17 Maesteg - Cheltenham Spa will terminate at Cardiff Central. Customers should travel on the 16:25 Cardiff Central - Newport and change for replacement road transport.

17:46 Cheltenham Spa - Maesteg will start at Cardiff Central. Customers should travel on the 18:01 Cheltenham Spa - Gloucester and change for replacement road transport.

Other alterations

  • 06:42 Cardiff Central – Pembroke Dock will terminate at Swansea. Replacement road transport will operate Swansea – Pembroke Dock, details can be found here
  • 07:16 Cardiff Central – Swansea will be cancelled. Customers should travel on the 07:50 Cardiff Central -Carmarthen
  • 12:32 Holyhead - Maesteg will not operate between Shrewsbury and Cardiff Central. Customers should travel on the 15:42 Shrewsbury - Milford Haven
  • 16:25 Llandudno Junction – Chester will be cancelled. Customers should travel on the 16:49 Llandudno Junction – Birmingham International or 17:17 Llandudno Junction – Manchester Piccadilly service
  • 18:39 Llandudno Junction – Chester will be cancelled. Customers should travel on 18:53 Llandudno Junction - Manchester Airport
