Changes to train times

 

May Bank Holiday 2019

Information to follow.

From Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May,

No trains to /  from London Fenchurch Street. The following alterations will apply:

Services via Basildon will be diverted to start from / terminate at London Liverpool Street and will call additionally at Stratford.

Services via Ockendon will NOT RUN, a shuttle service will run between Upminster / Grays and Southend Central

Services via Rainham will NOT RUN, buses will run between Barking and Grays via Rainham

 

Caledonian Sleeper

 

On Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May all Northbound / Southbound services will be diverted and will start / terminate at London Kings Cross and will not call at Watford Junction, Crewe, Preston and Carlisle.

Additionally, on Sunday 5th May, the Glasgow Central/Edinburgh to London Kings Cross service is diverted via Holytown and will be unable to call at Motherwell. .

CrossCountry

 

On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May trains weill divert and not call at Motherwell, alternative services will operate between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

On Sunday 5 May trains will divert and will not call at Wakefield Westgate, change at Leeds / Doncaster for alternative services to Wakefield Westgate.

 

Chiltern Railways

 

From Saturday 4 until  Monday 6 May a revised timetable will operate will trains starting / terminating at Birmingham Moor Street.

East Midlands Trains

 

From Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May an amended service will be operating on services to / from London St Panras International. Some services will be retimed and diverted.

Gatwick Express

Grand Central

 

On Saturday 4th May the following alterations will apply:

The 06.42, 08.28, 12.18, 15.29 and 17.29 Sunderland to London Kings Cross services will divert via Durham and Darlington not calling at Hartlepool and Eaglescliffe. Replacement road transport will be in operation from Hartlepool to Northallerton calling at Eaglescliffe. Passengers from Sunderland for Hartlepool should take an alternative Northern service. In addition the 08.28, 15:29 and 17:29 Sunderland to London Kings Cross services will be retimed to depart earlier / later.

The 08.06, 11.27, 13.18, 16.48, 19.27 London Kings Cross to Sunderland services to divert via Darlington and Durham not calling at Eaglescliffe and Hartlepool. Replacement road transport will be in operation from Northallerton to Hartlepool calling at Eaglescliffe. Passengers from Hartlepool for Sunderland should take an alternative Northern service.

 

On Sunday 5 May London Kings Cross to Sunderland services to divert via Darlington and Durham not calling at Eaglescliffe and Hartlepool. Replacement road transport will be in operation from Northallerton to Hartlepool via Eaglescliffe. Passengers from Hartlepool for Sunderland should take an alternative Northern service.

Great Northern

Great Western Railway

 

From Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May the following alterationjs will apply:

Trains between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids / Plymouth / Penzance will be diverted between Reading and Westbury, not calling at Newbury or Pewsey.  Some trains will call additionally at Swindon. Customers at Newbury should travel via Reading and customers at Pewsey should use replacement road transport between Swindon and Pewsey.

Services between London Paddington / Reading and Bedwyn will start / terminate at Newbury. Trains between Newbury and Bedwyn will not run, buses will operate between these stations.


Greater Anglia

Heathrow Express

 

There is no engineering planned on the Heathrow Express network.

Hull Trains

 

A normal service is expected to run, subject to engineering works. .

Island Line

London Northwestern Railway

 

Saturday 4 May

Major engineering work at London Euston: Train services between London Euston and Tring / Milton Keynes Central / Northampton will not run. Until 22:00 rail replacement buses will operate between Stanmore (London Underground station) / Watford Junction and Hemel Hempstead. A special half-hourly train service will run between Hemel Hempstead and Northampton. After 22:00 rail replacement buses will operate between Stanmore / Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central, with a special half-hourly train service running between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton. Train services between Crewe / Birmingham New Street and London Euston will run between Crewe / Birmingham New Street and Northampton only. 

 

Sunday 5 May

Major engineering work at London Euston: Train services between London Euston and Tring / Milton Keynes Central / Northampton will not run. Until 08:45 rail replacement buses will operate between Stanmore (London Underground station) / Watford Junction and Northampton. After 08:45 rail replacement buses will operate between Stanmore / Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central (not calling at Cheddington until 23:00 hours, with rail replacement buses also operating between Leighton Buzzard and Cheddington). A half-hourly train service will run between Milton Keynes Central and Northampton. Train services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston will operate between Birmingham New Street and Milton Keynes Central only. Trains between Crewe and London Euston will run between Crewe and Northampton only.

Engineering work will be taking place between Crewe and Hartford: Train services between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street will run between Birmingham New Street and Crewe only. Rail replacement buses will operate between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway. Passengers are advised to travel on Merseyrail train services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Central.

 

Monday 6 May

Major engineering work at London Euston: Train services between London Euston and Tring / Milton Keynes Central / Northampton will not run. Rail replacement buses will operate between Stanmore (London Underground station) / Watford Junction and Hemel Hempstead. A special half-hourly train service will run between Hemel Hempstead and Northampton. Engineering work is taking place between Birkenhead North and New Brighton, closing all lines.

Replacement buses will run between Birkenhead North and New Brighton, connecting with train services at Birkenhead North.

Saturday 4, Sunday 5 and Monday 6 May:

Trains between Barrow-in-Furness and Preston / Manchester will run between Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster, and between Preston and Manchester.Buses will run between Preston and Lancaster.

Trains between Oxenholme and Windermere will be replaced by a bus.

Saturday 4 until 11:55 Monday 6 May:

Trains between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North via Wigan will start / terminate at Wigan North North Western.

Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Blackpool North will start / terminate at Preston.

Buses will be provided between Wigan North Western and Preston.

Trains between Manchester Victoria and Buckshaw Parkway ) will be extended to start / terminate at Blackpool North.

 

Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May:

Engineering work in the Middlesbrough area means buses will replace trains between Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.

 

 

Sunday 5 May:

Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Workington. Trains that usually run between Carlisle and Whitehaven / Barrow-in-Furness will run between Maryport and Whitehaven / Barrow-in-Furness only.

Buses will replace trains between Barnsley and Huddersfield. Trains that usually run between Sheffield and Huddersfield will be amended to run between Sheffield and Barnsley only.

Trains that usually run between York / Leeds and Sheffield will run between York / Leeds and Moorthorpe only. Replacement buses will run between Moorthorpe and Sheffield.

Trains between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North via Wigan will be diverted via Bolton.
Buses will be provided between Wigan North Western and Preston.

Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport via Warrington Central will start / terminate at Warrington Central.

Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road will start / terminate at Hunts Cross.

Buses will be provided between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Lime Street.

ScotRail

South Western Railway

 

From Saturday 4 until Monday 6 May:

Engineering work is taking place between Petersfield and Hilsea, closing all lines.

Buses will replace trains between Petersfield and Portsmouth Harbour.

Trains which usually run between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour will terminate / start at Petersfield.

Trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth & Southsea will not run.

On Saturday only, an hourly service will run between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour via Fareham calling at Clapham Junction, Woking, Fareham, Fratton and Portsmouth & Southsea.

Southeastern

 

Sunday 5 May:

Engineering work is taking place between Deptford and Slade Green, closing all lines:

Buses will replace trains between Lewisham and Dartford, calling at all stations via New Cross, Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal.

London Cannon Street circular services will not run.

Trains which usually run between London Charing Cross and Dartford via Woolwich Arsenal will be diverted to run via Bexleyheath.

London Cannon Street circular via Sidcup services will run between Dartford and London Cannon Street via Sidcup only.

 

 

Engineering work is taking place between Sevenoaks and Paddock Wood / Tunbridge Wells, closing all lines:

 

  • Paddock Wood Line

Trains between London Charing Cross, Ramsgate & Dover will be diverted via Maidstone East and will be detached at Ashford International for stations to Dover Priory. A shuttle service will run between Paddock Wood & Ashford International.Buses replace trains between Sevenoaks and Paddock Wood.

  • Hastings Line

Trains will run between London Charing Cross and Sevenoaks and also between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings. Buses replace trains between Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells

  • Medway Valley Line

A minibus will run between Paddock Wood and Tonbridge.

 

Monday 6 May:

Engineering work is taking place between St Johns and Sidcup / Petts Wood, closing all lines:

  • Trains via Paddock Wood

Trains between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate / Dover Priory will be diverted to run to and from London Victoria.

Customers will be able to use London London Underground at no extra cost between Victoria, Embankment (for Charing Cross), Charing Cross, Waterloo, Southwark (for Waterloo East) and London Bridge.

  • Trains via Hastings

Trains between London Charing Cross and Hastings will be retimed and be diverted to run via an alternative route between London Bridge and Orpington. London Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells (semi-fast services) will not run. Hildenborough will be served by trains running between London Victoria and Tonbridge.

  • Trains via Grove Park

Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Orpington via Grove Park. Trains will not run between Grove Park and Bromley North.

Stations between Orpington and Sevenoaks will be served by trains running between London Victoria and Tonbridge.

Customers can use London Busesat no extra cost between Grove Park & Bromley North

  • Trains via Sidcup

Buses replace trains between Lewisham and Sidcup. A shuttle train service will run between Sidcup & Dartford.

  • Trains via Bexleyheath

Trains between London Charing Cross and Dartford will be retimed and will be extended to run between London Charing Cross and Gravesend.

  • Trains via Woolwich Arsenal

London Cannon Street circular services will run between London Cannon Street and Dartford via Greenwich / Woolwich and will not run via Sidcup.

  • Trains via Hayes

Trains between London Charing Cross and Hayes will be retimed and call additionally at Lewisham. London Cannon Street to Hayes services will not run.

  • Trains via Bromley South

Trains between London Victoria and Orpington will be extended to run to Tonbridge calling at all stations between Orpington and Tonbridge.

Engineering work is taking place between Sole Street / Strood and Rainham, closing all lines:

  • High Speed via Gravesend

High Speed services will not run between Strood & Ramsgate. Buses replace trains between Strood & Rainham, with a connecting train service running between Rainham and Ramsgate. Services between London St Pancras International and Strood will stop additionally at Higham.

  • Sole Street Line

Buses replace trains between Meopham and Rainham. Trains will run between London Victoria and Sole Street and between Rainham and Dover / Ramsgate. Customers will need to change at Meopham for the replacement bus service, as buses cannot call at Sole Street station.

  • Sheerness Line

Trains between Sittingbourne and Sheerness are re-timed to connect to the altered train service at Sittingbourne.

 

 

Southern

 

Sunday 5 May.

Major improvement work is taking place between Three Bridges and Brighton, closing all lines.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Three Bridges and Brighton.
  • Three Bridges and Lewes.

Train services between Brighton and London stations will be diverted to run via Littlehampton. Services that run on coastal routes between Brighton and Eastbourne / Hastings will run, though there will be no direct services from these stations to London.

Stansted Express

Engineering work is taking place between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield, closing some lines. As a result, TfL Rail train services will be amended to run a few minutes earlier / later than usual. A full train service will operate.

Transport for Wales

 

Sunday 5 May.

Engineering work is taking place between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester, closing some lines.

Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester that usually run via Warrington Bank Quay will be diverted to run via Stockport and Northwich.

Buses will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester via Warrington Bank Quay calling at all stations except Manchester Oxford Road.

Virgin Trains
