Major Improvement works over Christmas and New Year period 2014/15
Over Christmas and NewYear 2014/15 there are a number of major improvement works across the rail network, including in and around London.
A number of these works are listed below but the list does not show all the improvement works:
Network Rail will be carrying out further major improvement work between Watford Junction and London Euston over a series of weekends until April 2015. There is major work taking place over the Christmas period from 25 to 29 December.
As part of the Thameslink Programme, work has already started on rebuilding London Bridge station. When completed, London Bridge will have more through and longer platforms and a bigger concourse to cope with the 54 million passengers that go through each year.
On some weekends leading up to Christmas 2014 improvement work will be taking place at London Bridge.
Major improvement work is also taking place at London Bridge between Saturday 20 December 2014 and Sunday 4 January 2015.
London Kings Cross
An amended service will run to and from London Kings Cross on 27 and 28 December.
An amended service will run to and from London Paddington between 24 December to 28 December
London Liverpool Street
An amended service will run between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield on 27 December
There will be an amended service between Reading and Basingstoke on 27 and 28 December
Gospel Oak to Barking
There will be an amended service between Gospel Oak and Barking 24 to 28 December
Wolverhampton and Crewe
An amended service will run between Wolverhampton/Stafford and Crewe on 27 and 28 December
St Albans and West Hampstead
An amended Thameslink service will run as a result of these works from 27 December 2014 to 2 January 2015
