This is a London ‘Turn Up & Go Trial’ Station - Train operating companies generally advise disabled passengers to book assistance 24 hours before travelling. By contrast, a ‘Turn up & Go’ service offers assistance to disabled passengers whether they book in advance or not.

Some passengers already opt to ‘Turn Up & go’ but currently for a period of a few months a ‘Turn Up & Go Trial’ is running on journeys between 36 specified National Rail stations in the Greater London area, to understand if in future a formalised ‘Turn Up & Go’ service can be offered here. As part of a combined initiative by Network Rail Sussex and the South Western Railway to provide on-going improvements to Clapham Junction station, work will be undertaken at the St John’s Hill entrance.

The St John’s Hill entrance will remain open throughout the works and while every effort will be made to minimise  passenger inconvenience, some disruption to ticket purchasing facilities is inevitable.

To help avoid potential delays, passengers are encouraged to use the Brighton Yard entrance or buy tickets online.

Impaired mobility set down / pick up points available

New Brighton Yard entrance allows for set down/drop off directlty from St John's Road. This new entrance gives step free access to the footbridge which has lifts to all platforms.
