Station Message: Alert!

Northampton redevelopment

Northampton's new £20 million station is now open to the public.

Customers are advised to allow more time when first using the new station to familiarise themselves with the new layout and ticket gate operation. Further information can be found here.

In the coming weeks Starbucks, Coffee Republic, WHSmith and Enterprise car rental will all open brand new outlets within the station building.  In the interim period a temporary coffee station will be installed on the main concourse so customers can purchase hot drinks.

Alternative car parking

Our 700 space car park gets full by around 7.30am on weekdays, and space is limited after about 11.30am on Saturdays (Sundays are fine).

If you’re unable to find a space you can use the alternative council-operated car parks – just a 2 minute drive away – Chalk Lane and Doddridge Street (please visit to view a map). Pay and Display tickets purchased at the station and season tickets for the station can be used on Chalk Lane and Doddridge Street Council car parks during the construction work.

Pre-booked online parking and Pay by Phone parking cannot be used on those car parks if you have used these options and then have to park on Chalk Lane or Doddridge Street you must purchase a pay and display ticket. The station is only a few minutes walk away.
