  • This station is not suitable for wheelchair users for access or to interchange between trains as the ramps do not fit onto the platform properly. However if customers have mobility problems there is step free access. From Withington Street, across the footbridge and down a stepped ramp (32 paces, 1:8 slope with 18 steps of 12cm rise 170cm apart) to the ticket office. Or from University Road West up ramp (43 paces, 1:24 slope) or up 22 steps, across the footbridge (27 paces) and down a stepped ramp (32 paces, 1:8 slope, with 18 steps of 12cm rise 170cm apart) to the ticket office. Trains to Manchester and Manchester Airport leave on the right. Trains to Bolton and Wigan leave on the left.
