Group Travel

It’s better when we go together!

Groups of at least 3 people can get discounts on train tickets.

Question: what could be more fun than travelling by train?

Answer: travelling by train with lots of your friends and family! Plus, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get a group discount in order to buy a cheaper train ticket.

In addition to our Railcards for individual, couple or family travel, most train companies offer discounts for groups of 3 or more people travelling together. Larger groups of 10 or more people may even get additional discounts when booking tickets directly. Contact your train company for more information.

GroupSave – discounts for groups of 3 to 9

If you’re a group of 3 to 9 adults, you can get a 1/3 discount on Off-Peak tickets with GroupSave. Not a bad deal! Also, you don’t need to purchase a Railcard to get the GroupSave discount.

In order to get GroupSave discounts, you must travel together at all times. You cannot combine GroupSave with other discounts, and there are certain days when GroupSave cannot be used on selected services.

Discounts for groups of 10 people or more

Are there 10 or more of you travelling together? A school trip, or perhaps a hen party? Do yourselves a favour, contact your train company to see if they have large group discounts. There’s a good chance they will. Please note that the discount, times of availability and conditions of use may vary and may require advance booking or seat reservations.
