Background information:
Network Rail is investing more than £20m in rebuilding a major railway bridge that takes trains over the M62 motorway in Castleton, near Rochdale. Whilst this vital work takes place, the railway will be closed between Manchester and Rochdale from Friday 6 September, and reopening on Wednesday 25 September. There is a page containing project information on the Northern website.
