Some tickets may require you to travel at specific times of the day, days of the week or on a specific route. Our Journey Planner takes ticket restrictions into account with the selection that you have made and will only have shown tickets that are valid for the selected trains.

Outward Travel
For journeys to the following stations there is no time restriction:
any station in Scotland, except Lockerbie, Kirkconnel, Dumfries, Annan, Gretna Green and Sanquhar;
Flint, Shotton, Prestatyn and beyond;
beyond Shrewsbury.
For journeys to any other station, not valid on any train timed to depart from Milton Keynes Central after 02:29 until 09:46, except the 08:54 West Midlands Trains service.
Return Travel
For journeys from the following stations there is no time restriction:
any station in Scotland, except Lockerbie, Kirkconnel, Dumfries, Annan, Gretna Green and Sanquhar;
Flint, Shotton, Prestatyn and beyond;
beyond Shrewsbury.
For journeys from any other station, see restriction code 9A.
Notes
Break of journey is not permitted except to change trains at an intermediate station or to access station facilities.
