Island Line between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head

Description

Engineering work is taking place on the Island Line, closing the line between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head until May 2025. Background Information on the project can be found at the foot of this page.

Until Friday 25 April:

During the line closure, no trains will run between Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head. A minibus shuttle will run between those stations to maintain connections with ferry services.

Saturday 26 April to Thursday 1 May:

Buses will replace trains between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head.

Friday 2 May:

Trains will run as normal between Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head.

Background Information:

Network Rail engineers will be working to repair and preserve the historic Ryde Pier structure. The pier closed to trains on Friday 6 September and is expected to reopen on Friday 2 May 2025, in time for the summer holiday season.
