Description
There will be lots of planned essential engineering works and upgrades taking place during the August bank holiday weekend in England and Wales, from Saturday 23 August to Monday 25 August, as Network Rail works to improve the railway. Network Rail are carrying out projects across the rail network during this time as fewer people usually travel by train.
In addition, some train companies will be making changes to their timetable, and to some train times, to match services to the number of customers travelling. CrossCountry will be heavily disrupted by industrial action throughout the weekend.

Major engineering work:
During the August bank holiday weekend major engineering work will be taking place at the following locations:
London Euston: Trains will be running to and from London Euston, but will be amended and reduced until the end of the day.
There will also be notable work affecting the following areas during all or part of the bank holiday weekend: Birmingham International, Hounslow, Guildford and Lewisham.

Industrial action:
CrossCountry are impacted by industrial action by the RMT union today.
