The information in this Summary is subject to late-notice change due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Please continue to check the latest travel advice.

Spring Bank Holiday

The Spring bank holiday weekend this year is from Saturday 23 May to Monday 25 May inclusive.

Background Information

In a normal year fewer people travel by rail over bank holiday weekends, which is why rail companies plan to carry out essential improvement and engineering work across the rail network during this time. This year we find ourselves in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, so the trains that do run will be limited to around 10% of their normal capacity.

So before you set out this bank holiday weekend, please ask yourself if your journey is absolutely essential. If it is, then cycle, walk or drive if you can. Help us keep our bank holiday trains for those who really need them. Thank you.

Major Engineering Work

Spring Bank Holiday 23 to 25 May:

The following major improvement work has been completed on the West Coast Main Line and in London:
