Engineering work is taking place between Newcastle and Berwick-on-Tweed, closing all lines all day on Saturday and until 09:00 on Sunday.


Buses will replace trains between Newcastle and Edinburgh.


There will be an hourly service between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh, they will be diverted via Carlisle and journey times will be extended by around two hours.

Other services between London Kings Cross and Scotland will start / terminate at Newcastle and some will be cancelled.

Services between London Kings Cross and Lincoln / Hull will be cancelled.

Services between London Kings Cross and Harrogate will start / terminate at Leeds.

There will be a rail replacement bus services in place between Newcastle and Edinburgh, also calling at Morpeth, Alnmouth, Berwick and Dunbar.


On Saturday, trains to / from Chathill will be amended to run to / from Morpeth. Replacement buses will run between Morpeth and Chathill. 

On Sunday, the 08:30 Newcastle to Morpeth service will be replaced by a bus throughout. The 09:03 Morpeth to Metro Centre service will be amended to start from Newcastle, with a replacement bus running from Morpeth to Newcastle.

TransPennine Express:

There will be no services between Newcastle and Edinburgh. Trains will start and terminate at Newcastle.
