What to do in Basingstoke

This old market town is affectionately known as ‘Doughnut City’ due to its large number of roundabouts. These days Basingstoke is a lively town complete with a shopping centre just a few minutes walk from the station. With amenities within reach, so are plenty of green spaces.

Immerse yourself in a bit of nostalgia and living history, Milestones Museum is located within the leisure park and is a fantastic experience for all ages. Taking you as far as the Victorian age with cobblestone streets and schoolroom, through to the 1940s with a working sweet shop AND pub, there is definitely something for everybody to reminisce about or learn from.

Basingstoke Leisure Park has lots to offer with a wide range of activities to suit all ages and energy levels. From swimming, cinema and even indoor skydiving, there is plenty you can try your hand at, all in a single location. There is also a good selection of restaurants for you to grab a bite from.

Located only a few minutes walk from the station is Eastrop Park, which is a perfect place to walk or cycle through with its scenic green spaces with streams. Kids can enjoy themselves in the playgrounds while you sit back and have a cuppa at the cafe.
