What to do in Aberdeen

Known as the Granite City or Silver City, Aberdeen’s mining of grey granite for over 300 years can be seen throughout the town.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum is situated in Provost Ross’ House that was first built in 1593. The museum explores the relationship between the city and the sea throughout the years.

For something a little darker, head over to the Tolbooth Museum that takes you through Aberdeen’s history and development of crime and punishment over the centuries. Residing in one of Scotland’s best-preserved gaols, the 17th-century building is one of Aberdeen’s oldest.
