What to do in Newquay

Newquay Harbour is where the town got its name. Formerly known as Towan Blystra, the Bishop of Exeter permitted the building of a stone quay where the harbour now stands, known as the ‘new quay’. Back in the day the harbour imported and exported various ores and minerals, but these days small scale fishing happens in the harbour and supplies the local restaurants and eateries with the freshest fish and seafood.

While fresh seafood and shellfish are plenty in supply, Newquay is a foodie’s paradise serving breathtaking views in fine dining restaurants, though regardless of where and what you’re eating in town, there is always a place to accommodate to your taste no matter the occasion, dietary requirement or budget.
