What to do in Winchester

If you’re looking to lose yourself in time, Winchester wears its heritage proudly. The largest cathedral in Europe, Winchester Cathedral contains over 1000 years of history in its walls. While there are a number of treasures and artworks to explore it is also the final resting place of ancient royalty and key figures in British history.

Winchester was also home to novelist Jane Austen for the last 8 years of her life. ‘Jane Austen’s House’ is now a Grade I listed building and a museum commemorating her life and her achievements.
