Description

Major engineering work is taking place at Alexandra Parade station, closing one of the two platforms. Please see below for more project details.

At Alexandra Parade, platform 1 will be closed. Trains running through Alexandra Parade towards Bellgrove will not call at Alexandra Parade. Trains from Bellgrove to Alexandra Parade will call at platform 2 as normal.

If possible, you should use Duke Street station instead of Alexandra Parade. Duke Street is just a short distance away from Alexandra Parade.

If you are unable to use Duke Street, you should use the station help point for further assistance to complete your journey.

Background Information:

Network Rail will be carrying out essential upgrade work to rebuild Platform 1 at Alexandra Parade station in Glasgow's East End.

The £1.75 million investment involves the demolition of the existing platform, the construction of a new platform and the installation of new lighting and CCTV for the whole station. This work will provide a modern, safer platform for passengers with improved lighting and CCTV coverage.
