Description
Engineering work is taking place at various locations between Preston (Lancs), Carlisle and Carstairs, closing multiple lines.
Avanti West Coast:
Please note as well as the above work, London Euston is also closed on Sunday and Monday with trains starting / terminating at Milton Keynes Central.
Saturday
An hourly service will operate between London Euston and Preston with some services extending to Carlisle (diverted via Bolton).
Sunday
1 train per hour between Milton Keynes Central and Preston with some services extending to Carlisle (diverted via Bolton).
Monday
1 train per hour between Milton Keynes Central and Preston (diverted via Bolton).
1 train every 2 hours will run between Preston and Edinburgh.
Replacement buses
Rail replacement road transport will run between the following stations on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday:
Crewe and Preston
Carlisle and Glasgow Central
ScotRail:
On Saturday and Sunday buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Dumfries.
TransPennine Express:
Saturday and Sunday
TransPennine Express services to and from Edinburgh will be replaced by buses.
Services to and from Glasgow Central will terminate / start at Carlisle. A rail replacement bus service will be in operation between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.
Monday
TransPennine Express will run a train service to / from Edinburgh.
Services to and from Glasgow Central will terminate / start at Carlisle. A rail replacement bus service will be in operation between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.
