Northern between Wigan Wallgate / Huddersfield / Brighouse and Leeds

TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle / Edinburgh and between Manchester Airport and York / Redcar Central and between Manchester Victoria and Scarborough and also between Huddersfield and Leeds

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Mirfield and Leeds, closing all lines (background information on this work can be found below).

Northern:

Trains between Wigan Wallgate / Manchester Victoria – Leeds: Trains will be diverted to run via Halifax and Bradford Interchange, and will not call at stations via Dewsbury.

Buses will be provided between Halifax and Leeds, calling at stations via Dewsbury.

TransPennine Express:

Trains between Manchester Victoria and Redcar Central will be diverted via Wakefield Kirkgate.

Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle will be diverted via Wakefield Kirkgate.

Trains that usually run between Liverpool Lime Street and Hull service will run between Leeds and Hull only.

Trains between York and Manchester Piccadilly (local stopping service) will run as normal.

Rail replacement buses will run between:

  • Huddersfield - Dewsbury - Leeds

  • Huddersfield - Leeds (local stopping service)

  • Huddersfield - Stockport - Manchester Airport

This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project. The TRU is a transformative, multi-billion pound railway programme that will better connect passengers in the North between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York.

TRU will transform the Transpennine main line into a high-performing, reliable railway, bringing more frequent, more reliable, faster, greener trains.
