Buses replace trains between Farnham and Alton.

Trains will run to an amended timetable, with some leaving earlier than normally advertised. Please check online journey planners prior to travel.

Background information:

During the line closure Network Rail teams will be tamping the ballast under the tracks to keep rails at an even level, which will ensure smoother and safer journeys for customers. Also, at Alton station, repairs will be carried out to the canopy on platform 2. Comment on this project is available on the South Western Railway website.
