Description

Saturday:

Buses will replace trains between Effingham Junction and Surbiton (via Oxshott).

Sunday:

Buses will replace trains between Guildford and Effingham Junction / Leatherhead / Surbiton (via Oxshott).

Background information:

During the line closures Network Rail engineers will be carrying out a range of work to keep trains running reliably. On the bridge over the River Mole, between Bookham and Leatherhead, they will replace wheel timbers (large wooden blocks that carry rails over bridges) which will help keep services moving on time. On the line between Guildford and Surbiton, engineers will improve the railway’s resilience to flooding by performing drainage refurbishment at Effingham Junction. Comment on this project is available on the South Western Railway website.
