Description

Engineering work is taking place on platform 2 at Hillington West station, closing the platform for 13 weeks (project background information is available below).

Due to this, Westbound trains (towards Paisley Gilmour Street) will not call at Hillington West. Eastbound services (towards Glasgow Central) are not affected by this and will run as normal.

If you are travelling to / from Hillington West you should instead travel to / from Hillington East if possible. Hillington East is a short distance from Hillington West.

Check before you travel:

If you are travelling on or before Sunday 17 August, you can plan your journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner

If you are travelling on or after Monday 18 August, these changes are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, please check back nearer to the time of travel.

Background information on this project:

Network Rail will be delivering nearly £3m of upgrades in platform works at Hillington West station. The investment will not only improve safety and reliability of the railway but will provide modern, safer platforms and wider improvements to the station environment for passengers.

The project consists of two 13-week phases, the first phase being the renewal of platform 1. Once platform 1 is renewed it will reopen and teams will then spend 13 weeks renewing platform 2.
