Description
Engineering work is taking place between Huddersfield and Leeds, closing all lines via Dewsbury. Background information on this major project can be found below.
Northern:
Saturday to Friday:
Leeds – Manchester Victoria via Dewsbury:
Trains will be diverted via Bradford Interchange and Halifax, and will not call at Cottingley, Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and Brighouse.
Replacement buses will run between Halifax and Leeds via Dewsbury.
On Saturday and Sunday only, train services will run between Dewsbury and Leeds.
Replacement buses will be provided by TransPennine Express between Huddersfield and Halifax, which you can use at no extra cost.
TransPennine Express:

An amended train service will run between:
Huddersfield and Manchester Airport Stopper (via Marsden)
Huddersfield and Manchester Victoria (via Calder Valley)
Huddersfield and Liverpool Lime Street (via Marsden)
Dewsbury and Hull via Castleford (additionally calling at Cottingley, Morley and Batley)
Dewsbury and Redcar Central via Castleford (additionally calling at Cottingley, Morley and Batley)
Leeds and Newcastle via Castleford (additionally calling at Northallerton)
Wakefield Kirkgate and York
York and Scarborough
Buses will replace trains between:
Huddersfield and Leeds via Dewsbury
Huddersfield and Wakefield Kirkgate
Monday to Friday:
Services between Huddersfield and Leeds will be diverted to run via Wakefield Kirkgate.
An amended train service will run between:
Liverpool Lime Street and Newcastle via Normanton (additionally calling at Northallerton and Lea Green)
Manchester Victoria and Redcar Central via Wakefield Kirkgate / Leeds (additionally calls at Stalybridge on services towards Manchester)
Hull and Leeds
Scarborough and York
Manchester Piccadilly and York (every 2 hours, trains will not stop at Normanton)
Buses will replace trains between:
Huddersfield and Leeds via Dewsbury
Dewsbury and Leeds
Huddersfield and Manchester Airport

Background Information:
This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project. The TRU is a transformative, multi-billion pound railway programme that will better connect passengers in the North between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. TRU will transform the Transpennine main line into a high-performing, reliable railway, bringing more frequent, more reliable, faster, greener trains.
During this week, major improvement works will take place which will include bridge works and drainage improvements.
