Northern between Leeds and Manchester Victoria / Chester / Wigan Wallgate and between Rochdale and Blackburn / Clitheroe and between Blackburn and Headdbolt Lane also between Stalybridge and Southport

TransPennine Express between Scarborough/ Redcar Central / York and Manchester Airport and also between Newcastle / Hull and Liverpool Lime Street

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge, closing some lines.

Due to the above work, there will be no route in or out of Manchester Victoria from the east (Huddersfield / Leeds / York direction). Trains will be diverted to start / terminate at Manchester Piccadilly.

Northern:

Trains between the following stations will be amended as follows:

  • Leeds and Manchester Victoria / Chester: Trains will start / terminate at Rochdale. Train services are available between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester via Earlestown,

  • Leeds and Wigan Wallgate: Trains will run between Leeds and Hebden Bridge, and between Manchester Victoria and Wigan Wallgate

  • Blackburn and Headbolt Lane: Trains will run between Blackburn and Rochdale, and between Manchester Victoria and Headbolt Lane

  • Rochdale and Blackburn / Clitheroe: Trains will start from Manchester Victoria.

  • Stalybridge and Wigan Wallgate / Southport: Trains will start from Manchester Victoria. Train services are available between Stalybridge and Manchester Piccadilly

Buses will be provided between Rochdale and Manchester Victoria.

TransPennine Express:

The following TransPennine Express train service will operate between:

  • Manchester Piccadilly and Redcar Central

  • Manchester Piccadilly and Newcastle

  • Manchester Piccadilly and Hull

  • Manchester Piccadilly and York

  • York and Scarborough

  • Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria
