Major engineering work is taking place between Preston area, closing some lines.
Avanti West Coast:
The following services will be amended:
Saturday and Sunday:
1 train per hour Rugby to Manchester Piccadilly (via Crewe)
1 train per hour Northampton to Manchester Piccadilly (via Hixon and Macclesfield)
1 train per hour Rugby to Liverpool Lime Street
1 train per hour Rugby to Wigan North Western (via Birmingham New Street)
2 trains per hour between Lockerbie and Glasgow Central
2 trains per hour between Lockerbie and Edinburgh
Limited service between Crewe and Holyhead
Limited service between Wigan North Western and Carlisle (via the Settle & Carlisle, approx. 1 every other hour)
Rail replacement buses will operate between Carlisle and Lockerbie.
Monday and Tuesday:
London Euston to Glasgow Central (via Trent Valley) will run between London Euston and Preston only
London Euston to Edinburgh (via Birmingham New Street) will run between London Euston and Preston only
2 trains per hour between Lockerbie and Glasgow Central
2 trains per hour between Lockerbie and Edinburgh
Limited service between Preston and Carlisle (via the Settle & Carlisle, approx. 1 every other hour)
Rail replacement buses will operate between Carlisle and Lockerbie.
Wednesday to Friday:
London Euston to Glasgow Central (via Trent Valley) will run between London Euston and Preston only
London Euston to Edinburgh (via Birmingham New Street) will run between London Euston and Preston only
1 train per hour between Carlisle and Glasgow Central
Limited service between Preston and Carlisle (via the Settle & Carlisle, approx. 1 every other hour)
Northern:
Saturday and Sunday:
Buses will replace trains between:
Blackburn and Preston
Preston and Blackpool North
Buckshaw Parkway and Ormskirk (via Preston)
Trains will continue to run between Blackburn and Bamber Bridge.
Ticket acceptance:
You can use your tickets at no extra cost on replacement buses between:
Preston and Lancaster (operated by TransPennine Express)
Wigan North Western and Preston (operated by Avanti West Coast)
Monday to Friday:
Northern services are not affected by engineering works on these days.
