Great Western Railway between London Paddington / Reading and Newbury / Bedwyn; and also between Newbury and Bedwyn

Description

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Reading West and Bedwyn, closing some lines. ​​​​​​​

Monday to Thursday:

  • The 22:08 Newbury to Reading service will depart earlier at 21:48 and will not call at Newbury Racecourse, Midgham and Aldermaston. A rail replacement bus service will run between Newbury and Reaidng at 22:08, calling at all stations.

The following trains will not run and will be replaced by road transport:

  • The 21:53 and 22:47 Newbury to Bedwyn.

  • The 22:10 Reading to Newbury.

  • The 22:25 Bedwyn to Newbury.

  • The 22:47 Newbury to Reading.

  • The 23:17 Bedwyn to Reading.

  • The 22:30 London Paddington to Bedwyn. For stations to Bedwyn you should travel on the 22:28 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service and change at Reading for rail replacement buses between Reading and Bedwyn.

Tuesday to Friday:

  • The 00:17 Reading to Newbury service will not run and will be replaced by road transport from Reading stopping at stations to Newbury for customers to disembark only.

The buses will serve railway stations except where shown below:

  • Reading West will be served at Oxford Road opposite McDonalds.

  • Aldermaston will be served at the Bath Road bus lay-by.

  • Midgham will be served at the Bath Road Angel public house.

  • Newbury Racecourse will be served at Hanbridge Road adjacent to entrance or Mandarin Court.

  • Kintbury will be served at the Level Crossing by Station Road.
