Description

Engineering work is taking place between Dore & Totley and Edale, and between Chinley and New Mills Central, closing all lines. ​​​​​​​

Northern:

Replacement buses will run between Sheffield and New Mills Newtown via New Mills Central. Trains that usually run between Sheffield and Manchester Piccadilly will run between New Mills Central and Manchester Piccadilly.

Replacement buses will not call at Edale. For Edale, change at Hope for a minibus service between Edale and Hope.

If you require step free travel, you should travel via New Mills Newtown. Alternative train services run between New Mills Newtown and Manchester Piccadilly.

TransPennine Express:

Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield will run every 2 hours, and will be diverted to run via Marsden, extending journey times.

An hourly service will run between:

  • Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Oxford Road.

  • Doncaster and Cleethorpes.

You should use other train services between Sheffield and Doncaster.

It is not yet known how East Midlands Railway will be affected by this engineering work.
