Buses replace trains in the Southampton Central / Eastleigh / Bournemouth area on Sunday 6 December

Great Western Railway between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads / Westbury and Portsmouth Harbour

Southern between Southampton Central and Brighton / London Victoria

South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour / Poole / Weymouth, between Salisbury and Romsey (via Southampton Central)

Description

Engineering work is taking place between Southampton Central and Romsey / Bournemouth, closing all lines.

CrossCountry:

Buses will replace trains between Southampton Airport Parkway, Southampton Central and Bournemouth.

Great Western Railway:

Trains between Cardiff Central / Bristol Temple Meads and Portsmouth Harbour will divert between Romsey and Fareham (via Chandlers Ford and Eastleigh – where they will call additionally). They will not call at Southampton Central.

Replacement buses will operate (hourly) between Eastleigh and Southampton Central, taking 20 minutes.

Additionally, the 19:34 Bristol Temple Meads to Portsmouth Harbour will not run. You should instead travel by earlier or later services.

South Western Railway:

Buses will replace trains between:

• Southampton Airport Parkway and Bournemouth

• Southampton Central and Woolston

• Eastleigh and Bournemouth

• Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier

• Eastleigh and Romsey

Southern:

It is not yet known how this service will be affected. Check back closer to the date of travel for updated information.
