Description

Attempted theft of signalling cables between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate means trains have to run at reduced speed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, revised, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

LNER customer advice:

Rail replacement will run between Doncaster, Wakefield and Leeds, provided by West Yorkshire Travel.

You can use your ticket on the following train companies at no extra cost:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston & Manchester

  • CrossCountry between Sheffield, Doncaster / Leeds and York

  • East Midlands Railway between London St Pancras International and Sheffield

  • Northern between Doncaster, Leeds and York

  • TransPennine Express between Manchester, Leeds and York

Northern customer advice:

Services between Doncaster and Wakefield Westgate are currently being disrupted due to an attempted theft of signalling cables.

Network Rail are currently on site.

How does this affect my journey?

Fewer trains are able to run between Doncaster and Adwick (in both directions).

Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:

Sheffield and Adwick - Trains will be terminated and started back from Doncaster

Doncaster and Leeds - Trains will run but may be subject to some delays.

Northern services between Sheffield and Leeds via Moorthorpe are not affected, and customers may use these services to help you complete your journey.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
