Description

Overrunning engineering works between Welwyn Garden City and Alexandra Palace mean that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

You may need to change trains to complete your journey and allow extra time to arrive at your destination. We recommend leaving at least 30 minutes more time to complete your journey.

A reduced number of services will run between Welwyn Garden City and Alexandra Palace. Some trains will be making extra stops along this route, however we expect these trains to be busy. Where possible, we recommend delaying your journey until later this morning.

Service alterations:

  • Services that normally run between Sevenoaks and Welwyn Garden City will only run between Sevenoaks and London Blackfriars

  • Services that normally run between Welwyn Garden City and Moorgate have been suspended

  • Some trains that normally run between Cambridge to London King's Cross will make additional stops at stations between Welwyn Garden City and London King's Cross

  • Thameslink services that normally run between Cambridge and Brighton have been suspended


Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on:

  • Alternative Thameslink, Great Northern and Southern services on any reasonable route towards your destination

  • LNER services between Peterborough and London Kings Cross

  • Greater Anglia services between Cambridge and London Liverpool Street

  • London Underground services on any reaonable route across London, including to London Liverpool Street

It may also be faster to travel on the 305 Centrebus between Brookman's Park and St Alban's City, however please note that tickets are not being accepted on this service, meaning you will be charged an additional cost to travel on this route.

From St Alban's City, you can connect to alternative Thameslink services to and from London.
