Description

A fault with the signalling system at Ashburys means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Manchester Piccadilly and Guide Bridge / Romiley / Stalybridge may be cancelled up to 40 minutes, delayed or revised.

Disruption is expected until 09:00.

Staff are aware of the issue and are sending a team to site to try and rectify the fault.

Northern customer advice:

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.

TransPennine customer advice:

Where possible trains will divert and will NOT call at Manchester Piccadilly.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Alternative TransPennine express/Northern services between Stalybridge and Manchester Victoria

  • Metrolink tram services between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly until 12:00
