Description

A person has been hit by a train between Bishops Stortford / Stansted Airport and Cambridge. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines are closed. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

This is expected until the end of the day.

CrossCountry customer advice:

CrossCountry services are terminating at / starting back from Cambridge, not running between Stansted Airport and Cambridge.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following:

  • Services two hours before or two hours after your cancelled train

  • All rail operator services except open access operators (Grand Central, Hull Trains and Lumo) or the following operators: Transport for Wales, ScotRail, East Midlands Railway and Transport for London.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

You can use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following services:

  • Great Northern between London Kings Cross and Cambridge

  • London Underground between London Kings Cross and London Liverpool Street

Please note this incident will also affect Cross Country services to / from Stansted Airport.

Greater Anglia are currently trying to resource rail replacement vehicles to operate between Bishops Stortford and Cambridge.

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
