Trains between Glasgow Central / Kilmarnock and Ayr, and between Kilmarnock / Ayr and Girvan and also between Ayr and Stranraer

Description

A broken down train between Newton-on-Ayr and Ayr means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between Troon and Stranraer may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 16:30.

Customer advice:

Customers with valid ScotRail tickets may use them to travel via any reasonable route, at no extra cost, in order to complete their journey.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Stagecoach West on routes:

    • 4: Glasgow – Kilmarnock – Prestwick – Ayr

    • 11: Kilwinning - Irvine - Ardrossan

    • 14: Irvine - Troon - Ayr

    • 585: Irvine – Prestwick - Ayr

    • X36: Glasgow - Howwood - Glengarnock - Dalry

    • X77: Glasgow - Kilmarnock - Prestwick - Ayr

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
