Description

A fault on a train between Meadowhall and Barnsley means the lines towards Barnsley are blocked. Trains running between Meadowhall and Huddersfield / Wakefield Kirkgate may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes, revised or diverted via Moorthorpe.

Disruption is expected until 10:30.

Customer advice:

A rescue train has been dispatched to assist the faulty train away from the line.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Effect on service:

At present, the line from Meadowhall towards Barnsley is blocked in this direction only. However, services in both directions will be disrupted due to the displacement of trains and crew members.

Road transport:

Road transport will run as follows:

  • 07:55 - One full size bus will depart Meadowhall calling at all stops to Wakfield Kirkgate. Operated by Andrews of Tideswell

  • 07:55 - Two 16 seater minibuses will depart Meadowhall calling at all stops to Huddersfield. Operated by Elite

  • 09:15 - One 16 seater minibus will depart Huddersfield calling at Barnsley and Meadowhall only. Operated by Mayfair
    09:15 - One 16 seater minibus will depart Huddersfield calling at all stops to Meadowhall. Operated by Mayfair
