Description
The emergency services are dealing with an incident in the Basingstoke area. To allow them to safely carry out their work, some lines in the area are closed.
Trains running to, from and through the station may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.
Major disruption is expected until 21:00.

CrossCountry customer advice:
Services may be diverted via Guildford. Where this is the case, Basingstoke, Winchester and Southampton Airport Parkway will not be served.
You may use your ticket on the following services and suggested routes at no extra cost:
South Western Railway services on routes as follows:
Between London Waterloo and Southampton Central (including rail replacement services between Basingstoke and Southampton Airport Parkway, where available). Please note, these train services are also being affected by this issue
Between Winchester and Southampton Central
Great Western Railway services on routes as follows:
Between Reading and Banbury via Didcot Parkway
Between London Paddington and Reading
Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Birmingham New Street / Manchester Piccadilly
London Underground services between London terminal stations. Please show your ticket to barrier staff to be let through
If your CrossCountry train is cancelled, you may use your ticket on CrossCountry services operating two hours before or two hours after your cancelled service.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost
Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but coaches B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available), so please head to them.

Long distance and mainline services:
Some services between London Waterloo and Southampton Central will be diverted from Southampton Central towards Havant and will run up towards London Waterloo via Guildford where possible. They will run in the normal direction from London Waterloo towards Southampton Central, but will not call at Basingstoke
Stopping services between London Waterloo and Basingstoke will be cancelled
Fareham to London Waterloo via Eastleigh services will be diverted via Havant and Guildford where possible. They will run in the normal direction from London Waterloo, but will not call at Basingstoke
Services between London Waterloo and Salisbury / Exeter St Davids will be cancelled or will start and finish their journeys at a different station
How do I get to my destination?
If you are travelling from London Waterloo / Woking towards Basingstoke or beyond, towards either Salisbury or Southampton Central, you can still travel, however, please expect significant delays.
South Western Railway are still in the process of arranging replacement transport. A bus is confirmed to arrive at Eastleigh before 17:30.

CrossCountry services between Reading and Southampton Central (please note, these services are also being affected by this incident)
Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Westbury / Salisbury / Exeter St Davids, and also between Reading and Westbury

Ticket flexibility:
If your train is cancelled, you will be able to travel on an alternative service operated by any other participating train company, either two hours before or two hours after the original departure time of the cancelled service, in order to reach your destination.
If you decide not to travel or cannot complete your journey due to cancellations, you are entitled to a full refund from your original point of sale.
