Between York / Hull and Bridlington, and between Sheffield / Hull and Scarborough

Description

All lines are closed between Driffield and Scarborough whilst the emergency services deal with an incident. To allow them to carry out their work safely, no trains can currently run through the area.

Trains running between these stations will be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 20:00.

Customer advice:

Train services are unable to run between Driffield and Bridlington (in both directions).

Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:

  • Between York and Scarborough

  • Between Sheffield and Scarborough

  • Between Hull and Bridlington


What should I do?

You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

You can use your ticket to travel on the following services at no extra cost:

  • LNER between Doncaster and York

  • TransPennine Express between Scarborough and York

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Road transport:

Road transport has been requested. More information will be provided once operators and timings have been confirmed.

Journey times may be extended whilst travelling by road transport.
