Description

A fault with the barriers at a level crossing and an earlier fault with the signalling system between Brough and Hull means that some lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 10:00.

Northern customer advice:

  • Rotherham Central to Scarborough services will be delayed

  • Doncaster to Hull services will be cancelled

  • Halifax to Hull services will be delayed

  • Hull / Bridlington to York services will be delayed

The 07:56 Rotherham Central to Scarborough service will call additionally at Kirk Sandall, Hatfield & Stainforth, Thorne North, Gilberdyke, Ferriby and Hessle.

You can use your ticket on TransPennine Express services via any reasonable route if your service is cancelled.

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Availability checks are being completed and replacement transport and will be ordered if the disruption continues.

TransPennine Express customer advice:

Rail replacement transport will operate as follows:

  • Leeds at 09:30 calling at Selby, Brough and Hull

  • Hull at 08:50 calling at Brough, Selby and Leeds

  • Hull at 10:05 calling at Brough, Selby and Leeds

Journey times will be extended when travelling by rail replacement transport.

If your service has been cancelled, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • Northern services between Selby and Hull in both directions

  • TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street and Selby in both directions

  • Northern services between Doncaster and Hull

  • Hull Trains services between Doncaster and Hull

  • LNER services between Doncaster and Leeds

  • Northern services between Doncaster and Leeds
