Disruption between Severn Tunnel Junction and Cheltenham Spa expected until the end of the day

Description

A broken rail between Caldicot and Chepstow is causing disruption to trains running between Severn Tunnel Junction and Cheltenham Spa. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Please note, a reduced Transport for Wales service is also in operation between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Transport for Wales customer advice:

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

• CrossCountry between Bristol Temple Meads and Cheltenham Spa in both directions

• Great Western Railway services between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa via Bristol Parkway

These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.

Limited road transport will operate between Cardiff Central and Gloucester (operated by Forge Travel) this will arrive at Cardiff Central at approximately 20:30.

Road transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.
