Description

The earlier failure of the electricity supply between Motherwell and Cambuslang has now been resolved allowing lines to reopen.

As service recovers, trains running between Motherwell and Glasgow Central may still be delayed, cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until 20:00.

TransPennine Express services are no longer affected by this disruption.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

You can use your tickets at no extra cost on TransPennine Express services between Preston and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

ScotRail customer advice:

You can use your ticket on the following services:

  • Alternative ScotRail services via any reasonable route

  • JMB bus routes between Motherwell and Lanark

  • Whitelaws buses between Motherwell and Lanark

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
