Between Penarth and Caerphilly, and also between Cardiff Central and Treherbert

Description

There is a fault with the signalling system at Cardiff Central, causing disruption to some lines through the station.

Trains from Cardiff Central to Treherbert will not call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays or Llandaf.

Trains between Penarth and Caerphilly may be cancelled.

This is expected to cause disruption until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling from Llandaf or Cathays and need a Treherbert service, you should travel on inbound services departing at the following times and remain on the train / connect with the Treherbert service at Cardiff Central.

  • XX:03 or XX:33 from Llandaf

  • XX:08 or XX:38 from Cathays

You must have a valid ticket to stations between Trehafod and Treherbert to travel. If you are using Tap & Go, you must tap in at your origin destination.

Additional information:

Network Rail are aware of the problem and technicians are currently working to fix the affected signal.
