Description

Following a road vehicle has collided with a bridge earlier today between Carlisle and Penrith, lines have now reopened. Trains running between these stations may still be delayed up to 30 minutes to allow the service to recover.

Disruption is expected until 16:00.

Advice for Avanti West Coast customers:

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

Advice for TransPennine Express customers:

Alternative options are being explored to keep you on the move. Until these are confirmed, you are advised to travel on the next available TransPennine Express service to reach your destination.
