Description
Multiple reports of flooding are affecting several Northern routes.
Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised as result.
This is expected to affect services for the remainder of the day.
Customer advice:
The following routes are currently disrupted:
Carlisle - Skipton
Train services are now able to run between Carlisle and Skipton in both directions; however, whilst service recovers, trains may still be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services between Carlisle and Leeds will be affected by this disruption.
Carlisle - Whitehaven
Train services are unable to run between Carlisle and Whitehaven in both directions.
Replacement transport:
Road transport will be operated by Workington Transport Heritage Trust as follows:
From Whitehaven calling at all stations to Carlisle at 16:30
From Carlisle calling at all stations to Whitehaven at 17:00
Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
Journey times may be extended by up to 30 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
Millom - Corkickle
Train services are now able to call at all stations between Millom and Corkickle in both directions however are subject to short notice delays and cancellations due to this earlier problem.
Road transport will be operated by Workington Transport Heritage Trust as follows:
Corkickle to Barrow-in-Furness at 16:39
Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.
Journey times may be extended by up to 90 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
Skipton - Lancaster
Train services are unable to run between Skipton and Lancaster (in both directions).
Services between Leeds and Lancaster will run between Leeds and Skipton only.
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.
Customers travelling between Leeds and Lancaster may travel on alternative Northern services between Leeds and Preston to connect with trains towards Lancaster (in both directions).
You can use Northern, Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services between Lancaster and Preston (in both directions) at no extra cost.
Road transport:
Road transport has been arranged to run between Skipton and Lancaster as follows:
17:45 Morecambe to Skipton, calling at all stations. Operated by S-Line.
18:20 Skipton to Lancaster, calling at all stations. Operated by J&B Travel.
20:20 Skipton to Lancaster, calling at all stations. Operated by S-Line
20:25 Morecambe to Skipton, calling at all stations to Skipton and then as required to Leeds. Operated by Bestway.
21:45 Lancaster to Skipton, calling at all stations. Operated by Bibby's

What should I do?
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
