Description

A tree is on the railway between Charlton and Woolwich Dockyard, meaning that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations will be cancelled, severely delayed or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 15:00.

What's happened?

A train has struck a tree between Charlton and Woolwich Dockyard, and is now unable to proceed forward. Both lines are blocked while the driver inspects the train for potential damage.

The driver has inspected the train and found no damage; the train is now on the move.

The line towards Charlton from Woolwich will remain blocked, as response staff deal with another tree on the line near Charlton.

How does this affect my journey?

No trains can run towards Dartford via Woolwich. Services will be diverted via Bexleyheath or Sidcup.

What should I do?

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Buses between London and Dartford.

Thameslink customer advice:

Thameslink services running between Luton, London Bridge, Gillingham and Rainham are expected to terminate at a different station than normal meaning some stations will not be served.

Service impact :

Services are expected to either terminate at London Bridge, Deptford and Dartford.

This means you will need to use an alternative route for stations between Dartford and Rainham.

You will need to allow at least an extra 30 minutes to complete your journey.
