Description
A points failure at Chester means that some lines are blocked.
As a result, trains between Chester and Greenbank / Frodsham may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 17:30.
Additional information:
Network Rail staff have arrived on site and are investigating the fault.
Northern customer advice:
Services running between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester will terminate / restart at Mouldsworth.
Service running between Leeds and Chester will terminate / restart Manchester Victoria.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including advance and peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.

Due to a lack of available operators in the area, rail replacement road transport is limited and expected to be extremely busy. Rail replacement buses have been booked to run as follows:
