Description

The earlier trespasser on the line in the Chester-le-Street area has now been removed, allowing trains to resume running at normal speed on all lines through this station.

As service recovers, trains running between Durham and Newcastle may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

This is expected until 22:00.
