Trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh

Description

Following a broken down train at Cleland all lines have now reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 23:00.

Customer advice:

Rail replacement buses have been confirmed and will operate as follows:

  • x2 buses at Motherwell, provided by Arays at 21:00

  • x2 buses at Edinburgh Waverley, provided by City Circle at 21:15 and Merlins at 21:40

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on Lothian buses between Edinburgh and Curriehill on bus route 44 in both directions until end of service.

You can use your ticket, at no additional cost, on ScotRail services via any alternative route to your destination:

  • Glasgow Central to Lanark services - for Uddingston and Bellshill

  • If you are travelling from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh, you can travel via Bathgate and via Falkirk High

If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
