Description
A safety inspection of the track between Salford Crescent and Blackburn / Preston means that trains have to run at a reduced speed on some lines. As a result, trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes, diverted or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

If you are travelling to Bolton, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available Northern or TransPennine Express services from Manchester Oxford Road to Bolton.
If you are travelling from Bolton, you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the next available TransPennine Express service from Bolton towards Glasgow Central / Edinburgh, and also onboard the next available Northern services between Liverpool Lime Street / Manchester and Preston.
Additional information:
An emergency speed restriction will stay in place all day pending repairs. Due to the extent of the repair work that needs to be done, this is likely to take place overnight to reduce disruption to services.
