Description

A fault with the signalling system at Conisbrough means trains operating between Doncaster and Sheffield must run at a reduced speed on all lines. As a result, trains between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 45 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 22:00.

Network Rail engineers are on site.

Northern customer advice:

Road transport will operate between Doncaster and Swinton, in both directions. This is expected to arrive at 21:30 in Doncaster and Swinton.

Journey times will be extended by 40 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.

Ticket acceptance:

Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost, on TransPennine Express services between Doncaster and Sheffield.

Customers can also travel to Meadowhall for services back to Rotherham and Swinton.

If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern, TransPennine Express or LNER service within 2 hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart.

Additional information:

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
