Description

A safety inspection of the track between Eastbourne and Hastings means that some lines will be blocked. Trains running to / from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

This is expected until 12:30.

Customer advice:

If you are travelling between Eastbourne and Hastings will need to use an alternative service route to complete your journey. This is due to a safety inspection of the track in the Cooden Beach area. Your journey will take longer than normal and you should allow an additional 60 minutes extra to reach your destination.

The following stations will not be served by Southern services until further notice:

  • Pevensey & Westham

  • Pevensey Bay

  • Normans Bay

  • Cooden Beach

  • Collington

  • Bexhill


Ticket acceptance:

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following;

  • Stagecoach 98 - Bexhill, St Leonards Warrior Square, Hastings

  • Stagecoach 99 - Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay, Bexhill, Glynde (Town), St Leonards Warrior Square, Hastings

  • Stagecoach 100 - Hastings, Ore, Winchelsea, Rye

  • Stagecoach 101 - Hastings, Ore, Winchelsea (Town), Rye

Replacement buses:

Southern have been able to resource some replacement buses, so you may be able to use these to get to your destination.

Buses are expected to arrive at approximately 11:30.

They are then due to operate on the following routes:

Ashford to Hastings covering the the following stations;

  • Ashford International

  • Ham Street

  • Appledore

  • Rye

  • Winchelsea

  • Three Oaks

  • Ore

  • Hastings


The bus supplier will be Grange Travel.

Southern have received a report of a safety inspection of the track in the Cooden Beach area.

All lines are currently blocked heading towards Hastings at this time.

Whilst teams work with Network rail staff to sort this incident as quickly as possible, please continue to allow additional time of at least 60 minutes to reach your destination.
